| WHAT IS A
NORWEGIAN ELKHOUND?? |
The Norwegian
Elkhound is a hardy gray hunting dog. In appearance,
a typical northern dog of medium size and substance,
square in profile, close coupled and balanced in
proportions. The head is broad with prick ears, and
the tail is tightly curled and carried over the
back. The distinctive gray coat is dense and smooth
lying. In temperament, the Norwegian Elkhound is
bold and energetic, an effective guardian yet normally
friendly, with great dignity and independence of
character.

| HOW CAN I
ADOPT A NORWEGIAN ELKHOUND? |
All adoptive homes
must complete an adoption application prior to being
considered to adopt a Norwegian Elkhound. each
application is screened and you will be interviewed on the
telephone. Based on the gathered information, and if
we have a dog that we feel is a good match, you will be
invited to come and see him/her. Upon arrival of all
parties (ours, yours and the dog) you may go home with a
new family member.
All our Norwegian Elkhounds are assessed for good
temperament, are medically updated, and whenever possible
are spayed or neutered.
Our Norwegian Elkhounds come to you free of charge,
however we do ask for a $150.00 donation to help defray
some of our costs in maintaining a program such as
this. Since this programs is truly a volunteer
effort, 100% of your donation goes to the welfare of the
Norwegian Elkhound.
|
| HOW CAN I

ask that you fill out a Foster Home application.

interview you and try to match up a Rescue Dog with
your particular setting.
